Making jam for the first time and feeling very poetic about it.

As I was done pouring the liquid and started sealing them one by one, I wondered if I can really trap summer in a glass jar? No matter how much sugar you add or lemon you squeeze, just as you're about to place the lid, it slips out, unnoticed, back into the evening air.
Summer doesn't belong in jars of homemade jam. It belongs in the winds. And when it's snowing, well, you can eat your jam and still, you'll have to wait..and wait... and wait.

And yet, at the very same time, I must add, I felt the 4 winds swoop into my kitchen and bring summer right back into the jars just before I tightened the lids.
I guess we'll have to wait a while still. Then taste. Then feel.
